February 1, 2022 – Construction crews and large equipment have mobilized to W. 1st Street with signs for the equipment drivers to take note of the surrounding power lines.
February 1, 2022 – Materials are being delivered to the project site and include large reinforced concrete pipes for the storm drain replacement.
February 1, 2022 – Construction crews have begun asphalt removal from W. 1st Street to get to the utilities below.
February 1, 2022 – Construction crews are also assisting with snow removal and gravel activities as needed for snowfall.
March 10, 2022 - Due to the weight of the device, a crane was needed to lift it into place.
March 10, 2022 - Crews work to ensure the structure is properly aligned and at the correct elevation.

March 10, 2022 - The underground water quality structure was delivered by two trucks, combined, it weighs close to 47,000 pounds and is 17-ft x 7-ft.  The large size helps with storage of sediment removed by the device.

The storm sewer segments are large and heavy as they are lined up for installation.
Crews remove the asphalt and prepare 5th Street for the new storm sewer.
At the corner of 5th Street and Sheridan Avenue, large, 54-inch-diameter pipe segments are staged for the upcoming placement.
Looking down 5th Street, you can see the carlsonator pipe segment (looks like a t-joint) and to the left of the photo is the wall stabilizer that is used to prevent soil from collapsing in the work area as workers lay the pipe segments.
